Account Deletion

Binder (xyz.getbinder.app) lets you delete your sync account and all associated server data at any time.

In the app (instant)

1. Open Binder and unlock your vault.
2. Go to Settings → Cloud backup & sync.
3. Tap Delete account and confirm.

This permanently removes your email, password hash, sync records, key bundle, and every encrypted document blob from our servers and storage. Documents remain on your device(s), where they always lived — deletion of the account does not delete your local vault.

Delete some data without deleting your account

You can delete individual documents at any time, keeping your account and everything else:

1. Open the document (or long-press it) in Binder and choose Delete — it moves to the recycle bin.
2. Empty the recycle bin (or delete the item from it) to remove it permanently.

If sync is enabled, permanent deletion also removes that document's encrypted data from our servers within seconds. Data deleted: the document file, its thumbnail, and its search text. Data kept: your account, your other documents, and this device's local vault. There is no additional retention period.

By email

Email support@getbinder.xyz from your account's email address with the subject "Binder account deletion" (or "data deletion" for specific documents). Requests are completed within 7 days and confirmed by reply.

What is deleted

• Account credentials (email, password hash, token) — immediately
• All encrypted document data and backups — immediately

Nothing is retained after deletion; there is no grace period or soft-delete.
